DAC Episode 27: Serval War

Many, many things are discussed. Green Room, Jeremy Saulnier's 21st century take on the video nasty. Nicholas Ray's desolate and great In a Lonely Place. The story-spoiling decisions of the PR Department responsible for DC's Legends of Tomorrow. And during the last half, Captain America: Serval War, a gripping tale of intrigue and raising exotic cats. Steve Rogers retires from the Avengers and decides to live a life in peace with his feline friends... until the Winter Soldier comes to assassinate Steve's favourite serval, Bootsy.

DAC Episode 26: How to Write a Novel

That's right! If you want to know how to write a novel, listen to the latest episode of Destroy All Culture and discover that writing it is only half the battle. Aidan and Adam discuss the fine points of drafts, proofs, the inevitable typos and what distinguishes good from bad editors (note: if you happen to be Adam's editor, you're the all-time best). Plus, which best-selling writer of erotica writes up to seven drafts of each of her bodice-ripping flesh-baring tomes? Find out here! Because we mention it.

All that and a bit of discussion on last week's superheroic television shows and a couple of (non-spoilery) early thoughts on Captain America: Civil War.

DAC Episode 24: Not About The Show 24

In their long tradition of not taking advantage of obvious opportunities, Aidan and Adam sit down for their 24th episode and perversely refuse to discuss Kiefer Sutherland's torture-happy star vehicle 24. Why? Because it was a stupid, stupid show. And Prince died, so we had to process that. Who would have thought a world without Prince was possible?

We also talk about water bottles. Did you know that Nalgene is a brand and not a substance?

DAC Episode 18: Psychojemographical Studies

Who would deliberately and with masochism aforethought watch the Jem and the Holograms movie? The answer, obviously, is unsuspecting Jem fans and us. We take this misbegotten attempt at adopting a beloved '80s cartoon and examine the strange things that must have happened along the way. Sing along with us beneath the pier.

We also talk a bit about the first season of Psych, which Adam nominates as the blandest show fo all time. Fun!

DAC Episode 15: Humping the Batman

Episode 15 of Destroy All Culture asks listeners the crucial question: if you owned a life-sized figure of the armored Batman from Batman v Superman, would you hump it? I mean, after a hard day at work, would you come home, grab a beer from the fridge, look for something on Netflix over a microwaved Amy's Meal, and then, failing to find anything sufficiently entertaining, go and hump the giant Batman in the corner of the room? Or would you dress up like Superman first? Don't forget that beer! Anyway, this week we talk about DC on TV: Supergirl, Flash/Arrow, Legends of Tomorrow.

DAC Episode 14: The Crowded Hour

There's no end to the number of TV shows featuring people in costumes that we can talk about, so in theory there should be no end to this podcast. But the truth is that we get a little tired after an hour. This week! The Expanse and the politics of worldbuilding! The women and fuccbois of Agent Carter! Supergirl and the exploding Winn! All the other DC stuff, including Flash, Arrow and Legends of Tomorrow!

See? Exhausting.

DAC Episode 13: Whatta Week!

Are you, like Aidan and Adam, curious about "whatta week it's been?" Then this is the podcast for you! Click below to hear Adam say "Man, whatta week, hey?" and Aidan be like, "Yeah... sure has been a week."*

*None of that happens. Join us for an entertaining hour as we discuss The Expanse, Supergirl, the uncertain promise of Colony, and the hideous waste of time that is Shadowhunters! All that and more, but with the more edited out, on Destroy All Culture!
